Love Never Fails

I know that this a concept that noone but Fundamentalists associates with Fundamentalism, but it's really core to all of the concepts we've discussed here. At the heart of this religion, when it is lived in righteousness, is love. Love for God, and love for others, and a lifestyle that teaches what love really is in a concrete way. And this is what makes the whole thing ring of the truth of God.  God is love, and it is the most important thing on His agenda to teach us. "And now abideth these three: Faith, Hope, and Love, but the greatest of these is Love."

Love in Any Language

How is it that all of these doctrines teach us to love? Well, let me tell you.

Discerning The Prophet: Loving God's Authority

God has given us a measure to determine our love for Him: "If ye love Me, keep My commandments." Finding the true Prophet on Earth today and following him is a way to show God our love for Him. He gives us His will through the voice of a Prophet. Following His will and seeing His promised blessings will help us to develop a closer realtionship with Him.

Adam/God: Loving Who God Is

An essential step on anyone's quest to know God is truly understanding Him and His role in our lives. How precious to think that the Father of our Spirits is also the Father of our bodies and the creator of our world. If you let this knowledge of His Fatherly love and concern for you grow in your heart, you will develop the trust for Him that eventually grows into a relationship of love and reliance on Him.

Celestial Marriage: Loving our Families

It may seem like the most obvious application of love, and yet it is so often the most overlooked. Love for our families is something that everyone will agree is important, but many of us don't pu tinto practice in everyday life. And yet, living Celestial marriage requires it, in greater measure than many of us have within us. But it also gives love back in an amazing way. The circle is expanded, and the places to go for comfort and help increase, for the husband, mothers, and children. And the trust, cooperation, and communication that and essential to making a plural marriage work bring our souls closer to God. Celestial marriage, when it's done right, is truly an exalting principle.

Consectration: Loving Our Communities

As we've already discussed, the Law of Consecration requires much love, and, therefore, engenders a greater amount of love in us. The Law of Consectration is the Law of Love, on a grand, community-based scale. It's purpose is to bring us all in together and make us all family, joined together by not just the physical bonds of Consecration, but the spiritual bonds of Love. ANd through this method, we learn about the economy of Heaven, and the heart of God.

1 Corinthians 13

  1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
  2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
  3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
  4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
  5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
  6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
  7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
  8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
  9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
  10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
  11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
  12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
  13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
